FlipFlop (by Anders Ragnar)
Shitty Day is a side project I created just for fun. It searches for Tweets from people that write about their shitty day. The results can be seen in a fun way (toilet paper roll) and users get encouraged to send back some love. You might even could argue that it will have a therapeutic effect (you’re not alone with your shitty day).
First I intended doing everything in Flash, but then I thought it’s a good chance to play around with some CSS3, jQuery and the Twitter API. And a lot of fixed PNGs to let only the paper roll scroll. Watch the making of video.
To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
OS X 10.7 Lion installs a suite of recovery tools onto a new partition, obviating the need for recovery disks or even the new USB drive that comes with MacBook Airs. The suite includes classics like Disk Utility and new tricks like a “Boot into Safari” option to get support even if you can’t boot into the OS, or Internet Recovery if you need to download and reinstall Lion from scratch. Just hold Command-R during boot to launch into Lion Recovery.
A rarely seen shot of a very young Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Really dig the 80’s style Steve is sporting here. Like he just came from Molly Ringwald’s place.
As for Bill, well, he looks exactly the same then as he does today. I’m not even sure he has changed out of that outfit.
Lastly, take a look at those faces. That’s some serious geek pride going on there. They own the world and they know it. Good for them.

Michel Foucault, “Of Other Spaces”
No other essay has informed the way in which I understand and articulate the digital space more than this essay by Foucault. If you read nothing else by Foucault, at least read this essay. You will never look at mirrors or boats the same way again.
